Course Description
This course is an introduction to philosophy, a discussion of the brief history of philosophy. At the same time, it will also deal with some of the philosophical questions and problems that the philosophers have encountered in their pursuit of philosophy.


Course Objective
To have a background about the history of philosophy specifically ancient philosophy.
To understand some of the problems and questions that philosophers have raised in their quest for the truth.
To liberate our selves from our narrowness of attitude that restricts us, being given the power to live in a new and deeper way.

Course Methodology
The course will employ the lecture-discussion method.

Method of Evaluation
Announced or unannounced quiz will be given.
Quizzes will get a higher weight in the computation of grades than the projects, papers or group activities.
Recitation and attendance is not included in the computation of grades.

Classroom Policies
Strict observance of the policy of the school regarding absences.
Deadlines for the submission of requirements will be strictly observed.
Special Exams will only be given to students who can present an excused letter right after the day/s the student has been absent. Excuse letters given after this day will not be given any special exam.
Dropped students will only be reconsidered a week after the submission of dropped students. After that week no students will be given reconsideration
